This blog is dedicated to the marvellous city of George, South Africa and the unique way of life around here. We invite you to join us on an exciting journey across the city and its surrounding areas, where you will discover a wide diversity of activities, sights, landscapes, and landmarks.

The city of George is home to a little more than 200,000 people and has largely retained its small-town charms. However, the place has become a modern-day cultural, business, and tourist centre attracting visitors from across South Africa and the world. Before we tell you more about it, though, let us introduce you to our blog and its authors.

The Idea

As you might imagine, we, the authors of this blog, are all locals. Having lived our entire lives in George, we feel it is a unique place that combines the hospitality and allure of a small, tight community with a wide modern, cross-cultural appeal in different areas, such as trade, business, events, tourism, and many more.

We should also not forget to mention the glorious nature. Magnificently overlooking the Outeniqua Mountain, the city also boasts splendid beaches and scenic drives. Together with the rich historical and cultural heritage, it makes for an amazing destination whether you are travelling for business or pleasure.

That is why we gathered and decided to spend whatever little free time we have in telling the world about the beauty of George. Read below to learn who we are and why we do what we do.

The Team

We are a group of four childhood friends who grew up together in the city of George. We lived on the same block and went to the same schools. We would cruise the streets of George with our little scooters and dip our feet in the salty waters at the city docks. We would have our little getaways in the cool parks and occasionally in the mountains. Our life in the city has been a blessing, and we would love to share it with the rest of the world. Before we invite you to dive into the sumptuous atmosphere of George, we would like to introduce each of us briefly below.

Charles

Charles is a high school teacher who loves to read and write. He teaches literature to the children of George and spends his free time on the beach, where you can often find him with his nose in a book. Charles also likes to stroll around the parks with his dog, Terry. Being a lover of the outdoors, this enthusiastic teacher enjoys writing about the nature of George and the vicinity. Beware, his articles are always full of intriguing words and metaphors!

Amahle

Amahle is the only lady in our group. She is into sports and works as a fitness instructor at one of George’s most prominent gyms. Amahle loves hiking, cycling, swimming, and water sports, so you can seldom find her at home. As you might imagine, these are the topics she most commonly writes about, although she has also authored some of the best George shopping guides you can find online.

Prince

Prince is the owner of one of the most prosperous local tourist agencies. He works with individuals and groups to organize personal and business trips to George and within the area nearby. Therefore, he uses his knowledge to create some of the best George tourist guides and venue reviews you can find online. Prince has the talent to craft amazingly funny and helpful information pieces that will tell you everything you need to know about any place worth visiting around the city and nearby.

Thulas

Last but not least, we have Thulas, who is our guide to local cuisine. Thulas has had a knack for cooking since an early age and began working in the kitchens of famous local restaurants when he was a teenager. He became wildly successful in a matter of only a few years and today Thulas hosts his own TV show, where he teaches people how to cook traditional South African dishes. This amazing chef has been kind enough to entertain the readers of our blog with quite a few of his famous recipes and also to provide professional reviews of the local dining places. This is us! We wish you happy browsing and we hope you find this blog useful.
